외상 환자에서 수액 치료를 통해 조직 관류와 산소 공급을 개선시킬 수 있다. 외상의 출혈로 인한 저혈량성 쇼크 상황에서 수액 치료는 반드시 고려되어야 하며, 병원 전 단계의 수액 주입 또한 도움이 될 수 있다. 혈액검사, 초음파 등을 통해 환자의 체액 상태를 평가하고 진행하고 있는 수액 요법을 조절하여야 한다. 주로 사용되는 수액의 종류로는 결정질 용액, 포도당 용액 및 콜로이드 용액이 있으며, 혈역학적 상태, 손상 종류 및 환자의 개별적 특성에 따라 적합한 종류의 수액을 선택하고 지속적인 조정 및 관리가 필요하다.
