This study aims to estimate the position and potential of Korean classical literature in the Korean Wave boom by investigating and analyzing the patterns and trends in which Korean classical literature has been published in Japan. The analysis revealed that, it was found that as of 2024, Korean classical literature is receiving relatively less attention than modern and contemporary Korean literature literature in the Japanese publishing industry. However, in recent years, thanks to the Korean Wave boom, the scope of Korean classical literature has expanded through the translation of Chinese literature and fairy tales, and related books have been published. Furthermore, it has also been confirmed that modern creative novels and comics using Korean classical literature are also being published. In addition, this study confirmed that films adapted from classic Korean literature have continued to receive positive reviews in Japan, both before and after the Korean Wave boom. Therefore, at this point in time thanks to the Korean Wave boom, I suggest that the Korean government needs to pay attention to the publication of books related to classical Korean literature and the distribution of related videos in Japan.
