This paper focuses on a research-oriented approach to music meditation that utilizes locality through the theoretical consideration of healing contents based on local cultural assets. The use of music for emotional communication with the natural environment and culture of a region is at the center of music meditation for the purposes of healing and purification. The possibilities are expressed in the form of musical expression methods, creation, singing bowls, chakras, and synchronicity. In this study, the approach to music meditation was selected as the theme, and a total of eight regions, including Jeju Island, Jeollanam-do, Gangwon-do, and the metropolitan area, were selected as target areas for the study. Research questions were set to secure data on the study subject. Music meditation was implemented with specific meditation images by collecting place sounds that are characteristic of each region, and suggesting approaches to music meditation programs. Meditation and local place assets have a common element in that they are naturally occurring,” and we tried to communicate with the regions through emotional empathy using music and meditation. In addition, it is believed that music meditation can be linked to cultural content programs such as tourism, festivals, and events that reflect cultural assets and communicate with the region to reflect it as a source of healing. The researcher derived a music meditation approach model based on locality from the perspective of the creation and planning of music meditation, and suggests the possibilities and expandability of the healing contents.
