This study analyzed the influence of workplace design elements on employee commitment through a survey of individuals working in indoor office environments. The survey evaluated the importance of workplace design elements across eight characteristics: three general attributes based on gender, age group, educational background, and five organizational attributes based on company type, industry or field, department or job type, years of service, and workspace user count. The analysis focused exclusively on workspaces. Findings indicated that workplace design for fostering employee commitment should align with employee characteristics, with general attributes like gender, age group, and educational background being more significant than organizational factors. Structural design elements, including outdoor space perception, circulation flow, visual appeal, and functionality, showed notable variations based on employee characteristics and warrant tailored consideration. Decorative elements, such as furniture, interior landscaping, personal lighting, and color, were also identified as crucial. Interestingly, the size of the workspace had minimal impact on employee commitment, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing individual workspace design. These insights can guide organizations in creating office environments that promote employee commitment and enhance overall productivity.
