The objective of this paper is about characteristic of 'Nonsense' which has literary meaning in poetic expression. 'Nonsense' can be is defined for three concepts. First, it means opposition of sense or 'meaninglessness' and 'absurdity'. Secondly, it means having 'meaning' and being a product of 'wit' and talent, but opposing to ordinary thing and logic. Thirdly, it is not opposed to meaning but making much meaning intentionally.
Among these three concepts, the third concept is closely related to literary meaning. 'Nonsense' can have a literary modifier when it has 'poetic meaning'. 'Nonsense' which has 'Poetic meaning' can be achieved by literary unification, Literary unification is the result of deep structure in literary works.
Such a literary 'Nonsense' can be categorized for four parts. The standard of this categorization is 'syntax', 'semantics' and etc. The categories are 'nonsense of situation', 'nonsense of words', 'category mistake' and 'enigma'. Among these, 'category mistake' is closely related to such literary apparatus as 'paradox', 'metaphor', and 'symbol'. And 'enigma' is the thing that is not ordinary but special, mainly happens between the title and the text in a poem.
An aspect of 'Nonsense' is closely related to the poetic language. And 'Nonsense' in literature don't perfectly secede from meaning but breaking itself being grounded in meaning. Several aspect of 'Nonsense' are meaningless by themselves. But they are the diverging point that act important role in making poetic atmosphere and forming poetic meaning.
