The Gongso(secondary station) has been accomplished a role as mother s womb of the Korean Catholic Church. This thesis probes historical, faithful and social characteristics of gongso in Daegu-Gyeongbuk region by the collection of historical oral records. The purpose of this study succeed to the legacy of faith community, and feebly contribute to the establishment of Daegu archdiocese history. In so doing, I asked to 131 gongso leader s with a written questionnaire(response rate 24%), and visited to 23 gongso in Daegu/ Andong archdiocese(interviewer 28 people).
Through this study, I came to analysis the three conclusive aspects. First, The historical characteristics of gongso : I came to identify that the Yongyun gongso as the Goyeon gonso' s predecessor, the Shingwang gongso' s history, the relationship of Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam region in Topyung gongso. Second, The faithful characteristics of gongso : I came to discover that the faith and life are well and alive in some gongso community. Third, The social characteristics of gongso : I came to compare today gongso' s social conditions to before 20 years gongso' s social conditions. With the result, The gongso' s economic condition comes to be more inferior than the previous one. And the ratio of gongso christian shows a tendency as Aging, Female-centered, Decreasing.
I will propose that the editing guideline of gongso history will be develop systematically, and laymen missionary will be dispatch a rural region. Above all, We will be try to the revival of gongso community.
