This study is about the Poetic Consciousness and Soul thoughts of Cho-jeong Kim Sang-ok.
First, I examined the organic Genre consciousness and the essence of Lyricism in his poetry. His poetry ranges from Si-jo to free verse, and his Si-jo is prominent in that it is free from any rigid standardization. He recognized the poetry as the most essential Genre that realizes Soul thoughts.
Second, to understand the Traditionalism and Lyricism, I examined his identification strategy and essence of Lyricism which uses anthropomorphic objects as the major subject matter. Especially his poetic attitude, which emphasizes our own cultural heritage as the major subject, is the most efficient strategy that embodies Soul thoughts on the basis of identity of the self and the world.
In conclusion, his poetry embodies his transcendental recognition of the world on the basis of Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu's thoughts. That is, it realizes Soul thoughts that internalize the concept of blank and unconcern, surpassing the language and the form.
