The purposes of this study are to insist on requiring of digital literacy learning in homeschooling, to review of characteristics and contents of praxis based digital literacy learning program, and to suggest implications of praxis based digital literacy learning for homeschooling.
Homeschool in Korea makes active more and more, but the learning systems of homeschooling don't come to stay yet. Homeschooling in Korea needs to develop various education contents and textbooks. Especially, digital literacy needs to be learned to homeschoolers in digital society.
In this study, I propose that the conducting of digital literacy education is based upon praxis. The core components of praxis are such as realistic learning community environment, dialogue and collaboration, empowerment, practical activity, critical reflection. Realistic learning community environment is able to use as a foundation environment for learning praxis-based digital literacy. The rest of praxis’ components are able to apply as strategies or methods of learning activities in praxis based digital literacy. Each component has influence on each other equally and complicatedly.
Learning processes in Praxis-based digital literacy are reflected in the components of praxis itself. The process of praxis-based digital literacy constructs acquiring prior knowledge critically, performing practically, and evaluating mutually.
Digital literacy learning is more important how to learn than what to learn. The homeschoolers promote critical thinking and self-directed learning ability in requiring digital age through praxis based digital literacy learning program. It needs to learn continuously.
