In the Choi In-Ho's short novel, The room of others(l971), we can see the sense of the nihilistic ideas and new sensibility of a private person. For reading The room of others, I try to reconstruct new sensibility in Korean modern city. Choi In-Ho's urban novel written by space sense. Especially, Apartment.
It is as follows that there are some of aspects for urban's space sense. First of all, Choi engaged in creative writing about an estrangement. Trivial round of daily life have got to rest at a private room. The best rest room was an apartment in 1970's. But It was damaged by wife's disappearance from home on The room of others. Secondly, Choi In-Ho tried to escape from weariness in the modern city. So, Choi chose a leap of imagination. It is kind of "becoming"(not "being"). The third, There are a friction between private freedom and public freedom. In the Choi In-Ho's short novel, he selsected private freedom. The question boils down to this. Choi's a leap of imagination testify to this nihilistic ideas. good conduct.
