This study focuses on how the use of well-developed multimedia materials can influence students' English learning, especially communication skills.
For this study, two experimental groups were chosen for one year. The first group used multimedia materials in their English class and the second did not.
To evaluate students' speaking proficiency, we adapted the newly developed testing tool, ESP-Test, which was highly recommended by Dr. Moller a British linguistic scholar and an expert as evaluator of English speaking proficiency.
The result of this study testifies that the group using multimedia materials gained much higher scores in their listening and speaking skills of English than the group which did not use these resources.
The success of this study proves that the use of multimedia CD-Rom in the English classroom is greatly effective and recommends the use of multimedia materials for students' English lesson improving their English communication skills.
