The aim of this thesis is to investigate to the characteristics of the work where the Heung is inserted in Sajo column of the Daehanmaeilsinbo, which resists against the Japanese invasion and inspires Korean with national patriotism by a medium of a newspaper.
The Daehanmaeilsinbo plays a leading role to bringing about changes of enjoying way of literary works, and also, to protection of patriotic enlightenment and national sovereignty. This newspaper is an important material to research the Korean poems and songs, as it puts various forms of poems and songs such as the Korean verse, ballads, Sijo.
Especially, in case of the works putted in Sajo column, with a lot of poems and songs, the works which deviate from the existing works of so-called Sijo is worthy of notice. Most literay history describes the changing courses of small genres. After small genre is distinguished, but still the other small genre keeps influences on a new small genre. Especially, in case of the work in which Heung is putted, it would be a meaningful research to examine such characteristics as the small genre is mixed up with each other.
In addition, these works has a satiric qualities. The final aim of satire is to disclose an evil of the society, to improve it, and then to present the virtuous ideal. This thesis is supposed to research and discuss some features on leading the public culture renewly by disclosing negative phenomena and contradiction indirectly.
