The aim of this study is to develop performance simulation program for 38㎜ laminated tube-type evaporator. The developed simulation program was validated by the experimental data with a developed experiment apparatus. The average error for performance analysis, such as cooling capacity, air-side pressure drop, and refrigerant pressure drop was within±10% compared to various tests. As a result of simulations and experiments, it was found that 38㎜ evaporator for this study had similar or better performance compared to the existing one. In addition, some parametric studies for the variation of number of refrigerant path and fin density were performed from the developed simulation code. Consequently, 4pass for 38㎜ evaporator had better performance with all range of air flow rate than 6pass one and higher fin density had better cooling capacity due to widened air-side contact area. Even though higher fin density was a bit poor with the aspect of air-side pressure drop, the present evaporator with only 38㎜ depth was offset by higher cooling capacity.
