In the ruling order of the colony. imperialist nations had controlled its generation and operation. Consequently, natives in the colonies have a long way to establish their subject in its positive meaning. Because imperialist nations reproduced the subject only in the extent suitable for colonial domination, modern systems that they built, such as education, industrialization, etc., can be thought to be seemingly-obliging violence.
Imperialism, in itself, reorganizes the colonial society with mechanism of imperialistic governing and controlling. Colonial ruling order has such a structure as a giant panopticon in which governing logic of the center has an influence even on individuals, a minimum unit of society. So, the ruling power, as a mechanism of power, regulates, controls and generates individuals' lives in the colony of Korea. This is impossible to solve through individuals' efforts, which makes them accept their lives as their destiny. In this process, natives in the colony are under the double oppressive situation of both class distinctions and ethnic discrimination. In addition, women in the colony come to be under another oppressive situation of sexual discrimination. Accordingly, native women in the colonies are thought to be a medium that can clearly expose the nature of the colonial ruling order.
In the works written by Chaemansik, their meanings and frames are clearly represented just when they are examined on the focus on woman characters(heroins). The women under the triple oppressive situation in his works abandoned their life and lead to the more tragic situation in the giant structure of the capitalism. Their lives are not formed by their own wills, and their individual wills don't enable them to escape from their reality. At this point, their reality governed them as the equivalent to the destiny. The works by Chaemansik can be estimated to express the intrinsic aspect of the colonial capitalism through description of heroines' situation.
