This piece of writing will focus on the price of Song dynasty aquatic products, and aspects of the incomes of individuals related to the fisheries and aquatic product price that were being studied, and a general summary is written as follows.
First of all, regarding the price of Song dynasty aquatic products, They were originally produced at a very limited number so even at the producing area, the price was very high, and if it is shipped to consuming areas in fresh conditions then the price will rise further, Secondly, the areas that were producing large quantities were able to do so cheaper than the price of normal aquatic products, Third, as the accurate price noted, the aquatic price of producing areas was a very moderate price which is about 300!o price of 1 dou(斗) rice, However, in the case with that equipment that is shipped to the populated areas such as Kai feng(開封), the price level of rice is very similar.
The profits of each fisherman are not the same, Firstly the person who captures in rivers or lakes manages few house expenses for endemic products with moderate tariffs, Secondly the capitalists obtained colossal benefits that they attained over hundreds of or thousands of Guan(貫) by constructing fish farms and the raising and selling young of fish, Thirdly merchants that operated on a petty scale gained a profit similar to that of which an independent farmer has; however they maintained an elephantine market share so they took more earnings.
The aquatic product in the Song dynasty showed various hallmarks, it served cheap prices on producing origin yet steep price on consuming place. Furthermore, there are in number of kinds of products that showed deflections depending on the products uniqueness. Finally, the price of aquatic product balanced out compared with rice or silk for stabilizing in that specific time period.
