Hong, Man-su is a main character in the Nam, Jung-hyun's fiction 《Dung land》(1965). He makes many troubles. He rapes an American woman Mrs. Bitch. She is sergeant Speed's wife. When he was 10 year old, his mother was raped by American military man. His raping mrs. Bitch means revenge in his mind.
In the ordinary satire style fiction writers attack the bad. Writers use wit, ridicule, cynical smile, swear word etc. Bad characters don't know their vice. Nam, Jung-hyun's many satirical characters don't know their vice either. But 《Dung land》's Man-su know his error and its meaning. This makes 《Dung land》's satire very unusual.
《Dung land》 is satire fiction. Nam attacks American imperialism and Korean realpolitik. By the way because of Man-su's character satire has several defects. Man-su is a satirist and he is a writer's other self, a condoler, and a soft and week sole. So we need an another analysis on this fiction. As a view of Mart Robert' 《Roman des origines et origines du roman》 fictions are divided into two types. One is illegitimate child's fiction, other is foster child's fiction. Man-su is a illegitimate child originaly, but he has foster child consciousness. It makes 《Dung land》 unusual satirical fiction. Satirists use comic story and tone usually. But 《Dung land》 's major atmosphere is sadness.
