This Study is to consider R&D plan of within converging technologies of Bio-Technologies(BT), Information & communication-Technology(IT) and Nano-technologies(NT).
BINT converging technology will play a core role in future industrial technology in 21C. Through convergence technology, our society will become ubiquitous and intelligent, allowing people to access personalized information anytime, anywhere. Work efficiency also can improve by optimizing the working environment as adjusted to the individual. Health management would also improve by providing specific care adapted to one person.
The BINT converging technologies will lead us to higher quality life. The objective resides in establishment of a R&D strategy to create novel technologies in the BINT converging technology area. The most effective strategy should be prepared to perform the new R&D projects successfully in the BINT converging technology by investigating characteristics of the technology, the preceding research programs in highly-developed countries worldwide, and status of R&D infrastructures.
In Korea, The National Science and Technology Council passed a "guideline for the R&D program for converging technology" in 2007 to promote and coordinate R&D programs conducted by different ministries. The Ministry of Knowledge Economy estimates the ripple effect generated from converging technologies at $96.7 billion, with 260,000 jobs created by 2015. Most importantly, identifying personal information could cause problems related to leaking related data. A ubiquitous environment is vulnerable to the exposure of information to unspecific persons. Ensuring security for personal information should thus be guaranteed for the completion and spread of converging technology.
In Chungbuk, although the field of Bio-related converging technologies are relatively active performance, converging technology remains big gap with in Korea. Thus a strategic approach on the regional level is necessary for Chungbuk to successfully occupy the new market.
There are needed to development and commercialize BINT converging technology. Most of all R&D budget and funding secured and interdisciplinary research needed. To organize BINT convergence cluster need to have a key role in Chungbuk and creation of the original core technologies will be possible in the near future by performing this advanced BINT converging technology.
