The purpose of this study was to identify changes in physiological and psychological factors in relation to continuous participation in exercise as well as the benefits of exercise for female university students. 24 Subjects for this study were recruited by ramdom sampling method among the female students in dormitory. They were divided into control and exercise groups. The exercise group was provided with aerobics, jogging, and walking every 3 times for 50 to 60 minutes during 12 weeks. To increase the impact of exercise, increased loads were offered based on the 50 to 60 % of aerobic capacity. The physiological factors include body weight and body fat. Psychological factors were measured by means of emotional condition, self-esteem, and life-satisfaction. 2×3 factorial design with repeated-measures on the second factor was utilized before, during, and after treatment. Results indicate that the exercise group with continuous exercise shows positive decrease in body weight and body fat. It was also found that positive well-being and life-satisfaction were heightened with decrease in psychological distress among the exercise group. On the other hand, the control group did not demonstrate any change in psychological and physiological factors. The findings of this study highlights that participation in continuous and systematic exercise contributes to the positive changes in psychological and physiological factors, implying that exercise can be utilized as attractive motivational factor for obese individuals.
