The purpose of this study was designed to find out the influences of decision making styles on career decision level and career preparation behaviors of university students majoring in community recreation and sports. For the subjects of this study, 609 male and female student were randomly selected from 5 universities located in Kyunggi-do, Chungnam-do, and Daejeon-metropolitan-city. The questionnaires, which were consisted of Decision Making Style Scale(Harren, 1984), Career Decision Scale(Osipow, 1980), and Career Preparation Behavior Scale(adapted from Westbrook, et al., 1985), were self-administered in order to measure the research variables. The data were analyzed using statistical methods such as factor analysis, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA., simple and multiple regression analysis, and so on. The results of this study can be summarized as followings: First, there was no significant differences of decision making styles and career decision level not only between male and female but also among grades of students. Otherwise, 4th grade students had significantly higher degree of career preparation behaviors rather than other students. Second, dependent style and institutional style of decision making had significantly negative influences on career decision level. Third, rational style of decision making had significantly positive influences on career preparation behaviors.. Fourth, career decision level had significantly positive influences on career preparation behaviors.
