The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of sports participation motive on mental health, peer-competence and school life satisfaction in elementary students. The subjects of this study were sampled 368 elementary school students using convenience sampling method. Results were as follows; First, there were statistically significant differences on hostility and depression of mental health, pro-sociality and initiative of peer-competence and rule, teacher and peer relationship of school life satisfaction between voluntary and involuntary participations. Second, according to participation motivation, the anxiety had significant effects on class and peer relationship in A group and on rule and peer relationship in B group and the hostility had significant effects on class and peer relationship in A group and on rule, class and peer relationship in B group and depression had significant effects on class and peer relationship in A group and on rule in B group. Third, according to participation motivation, the initiative had significant effects on peer relationship in A group and B group and the pro-sociality had significant effects on teacher and peer relationship in A group and on rule, class, teacher and peer relationship in B group.
