This paper proposes a gender sensitive policy that aims to solve various fundamental problems that have arisen in the Korean film industry due to gender imbalance, and aims to contribute to the industry’s longterm advancement. In order to analyze the cause of the Korean film industry’s gender imbalance problem, this study refers to the corresponding situations of Sweden and the U.S. Furthermore, Sweden’s gender sensitive policies are analyzed in order to discuss the first steps necessary for the implementation of similar policies in Korea. By analyzing the Korean film industry, in which many problems exist but no related policies have been discussed, this study intends to propose the most rational gender sensitive policy possible. It also recommends a planning and development fund, which is necessary in order to move closer to solving current problems.
