Samhyeonyukgak is one of the types of music which is played mainly by the wind instruments. At the same time, it also has the meaning of the band which is consisted of five instruments like Piri, Daegeum, Haegeum, Janggo and Buk. This type of band takes the charge of playing accompaniment music on performing arts like dance performance and shaman rituals. The musical characteristics of this band varies from their location that they were performed. This paper reviewed the characteristics of Incheon Samhyeonyukgak. Incheon Samhyeonyukgak took the music of banquet, memorial ritual, mask dance and shaman rituals. The player's of this band had a wide sphere of action. They performed not only in Incheon, but also in Seoul or Kyeonggi province. For that reason, the music of Incheon Samhyeonyukgak influenced by the music of other province and various kinds of music genre. Incheon Samhyeonyukgak consists of small songs like <Heotontaryeong>, <Gutgeori>, <Tangak> and <Ginyeombul>. The organization of the song and the Jangdan(the rhythmic pattern) was very similar to the music of the other province's Samhyeonyukgak music The characteristics of the Incheon Samhyeonyukgak showed on the melodic structure. The players showed their musical identification by using Bankyeongtori scale or low pitch range.
