This study tried to investigate golf tournament quality, which focuses on spectators’ characteristics including demographic and golf-related profiles. More specifically, this study examined (1) reliability and validity of five dimensions of golf tournament quality (e.g. affection to player, game of golf, course setting, hospitality and service management, and accessibility), (2) statistical differences between golf tournament quality and demographic profiles, and (3) statistical differences between golf tournament quality and golf-related profiles. U.S. amateur golfer panel data provided by on-line survey company was used and 220 usable responses remained for further analysis. The results indicated that five dimensions of golf tournament quality have high levels of reliability and validity. In addition, t-tests and one-way ANOVA results revealed that there were statistical differences in demographic profiles such as gender, age, and income level and golf-related profiles including golf career, frequency of attended PGA/LPGA, average score, and companion.
