Regarded with the (post)modern literary tendency in Korea and Ireland, the literary works are influenced by the social change, political issue, and post-culturalism. This is rooted from the writers’ attitude performing a political transformation as a literary power. Sometimes this literary power is reflected in a poetic representation as a spirit of the age. But the poets Moon Tae Joon and Seamus Heaney have the local lyricism and its universal meaning against the recent literary tendency. So this paper tries to find out a beauty of destitution and its aesthetics in Moon and Heaney’s poetry. As the poetic materials, they concentrate primarily on the hinterland, native grassroots, remembering of the subaltern’s life, the emotional and physical poverty. Their writings are not from the main literary tradition but from the local lyrical beauty. Finally Moon and Heaney’s literary tendency and their poetics can help maintain the positionality of the beauty of destitution and aesthetics of remembering in their poems.
