On the Japanese Unification of Written and Spoken Language, and the Expression of Sentence End In case of making inquiries, characteristics about the sentences of ii sasi which are distinguished physical features and changed of the earth in the novel of unification of the written and spoken language during the Meiji era, it is able to recognize there are a lot of sentences closed by a substantives, adverbs, etc. and de in particular.
It is hardly appear to the modern sentences, extremely unnatural phrasing. This article aims the end type of sentence, makes plans to carry out clear the reason why these particular expression made.
It takes precedence over investigation that the expression method of the sentence end of the ii, sasi sentence. Accoding to the result, it was 76% of appearance frequency in total amount of the sentences ended noun and de(no de). Those sentences were confirmed that have a distinctive feature of omitted copular word of -sitei si- . It means that the large amount of ii sasi sentences, the copular word were omitted. It also means that the people did not adopt a positive attitude about copular word expression, but it seems to be hesitated about that.
The copular words contains an honorific expression called de aru, de arimasu, de gozaru, de gozaimasu, exe. It is necessary to select a suitable honorific word in case of the communication partner. In case of physical features and changed of the earth, because there were not communication partner, need not select suitable honorific word. It means, the expression of copular word was variableness following writer"s thought. Therefore, It could be confirmed, lots of writers have recognized that using of an honorific word was the beggist problem of the unification of the written and spoken language.
This article made clear there are an actual fact of bottomless relationship with selection of honorific word that is the causes of ii sasi sentence which is a distinctive feature to the unification of the written and spoken language novel.
