One of the things we need to know in order to understand Spanish culture better is its local conflict and regional language. The Catalan region, which is the center of the conflict, plays a large role in the domestic economy of Spain. Even in the publishing industry, it does not lag behind the capital, Madrid. This shows that Catalonia has a great influence not only on the tourism industry but also on the cultural industry. In this respect, it is necessary to see how the current controversy, the Catalan independence movement and the conflict, will affect the Spanish publishing industry in the future.
The Spanish publishing industry is the oldest and most active in Europe. It is one of the bright prospects for the future in the foreign market in terms of its position within the country and language characteristics. In this context, this paper examines the Spanish publishing industry and the reading culture as the basis of the industry.
