This paper classify the errors which is related to the appearance/disappearance of the subject in Chinese writing by Koreans in terms of the syntactic form, largely divided into the appearance/disappearance errors of personal pronouns, errors of demonstrative pronouns, and errors of noun(-phrase). The three types of syntactic forms differ in the degree of accessibility posed by the Accessibility Theory: pronouns or zero forms are more accessible, nouns are less accessible, and demonstrative pronouns or nouns with demonstrative pronouns are middle.
It is possible to induce the rule according to the conditions of Accessibility Marking Scale and Prominence Scale, as follows:
First, the most important condition for subject appearance/disappearance is ‘Salience’. The salience is related to topic and/or grammatical subject. In the case subject is topic and/or grammatical subject, it can be omitted because it has high salience and high accessibility. However, subjects that are not topic or grammatical subject must appear because they have low salience and low accessibility.
Second, the next one is ‘Unity’. This is related to the distance to the antecedent, the number of references and the presence of interference terms. In other words, when the distance from the antecedent is short and the number of mention times are many and there is no intervening term in the middle, the subject can be omitted because the unity is high and the accessibility is also high. On the other hand, if the distance from the antecedent is long and the first mention is made and the number of intervening terms is many, the subject must appear because the unity is low and the accessibility also is low.
Third, because writing is described at the point of writer, Korean learners often tend to omit Chinese subjects based on the “authorship omission”. In order for readers to clearly understand the meaning of sentences, subject must appear.
