The purpose of this research is to investigate how the ritual order is reproduced in the women participating in the GX program and how the self-image of the individual is ex pressed through the ritual order formed by them based on the theory of interaction ritual of Goffman (196)7. To do this, the case study was conducted by selecting the GX program of the B fitness club in P city as the research environment. A total of nine research participants were selected from the GX programs which were limited to body conditioning, aerobics and broadcast dance. The final study participants consisted of women who regularly participated in the above events for three to seven years. Data collection focused on non-participation observation and in-depth interview. The collected data were analyzed using Creswell‘s (2013) five-step qualitative data analysis method. The results of this study are as follows. First, the ritual order of the women participating in the GX program appeared to be the order according to participation event, spatial order, role relationship order, and order based on hours of participation. The order according to participating events implied ‘interplay order’ as ritual order among sports events participating and ‘emotional order’ as that in sports events participating. The spatial order was revealed as ‘closed rite order’ and ‘open rite order’. In addition, the role relationship order indicated ‘role ritual order’ and ‘dual relationship ritual order’. Second, the self-image which is recreated to the GX program participants was ‘subjective’ self, ‘expressive’ self, ‘physical’ self, and ‘corrective’ self.
