The purpose of this study is to investigate the tasks to insure the right for physical education of students with disabilities. To achieve the purpose conditions and situation of physical education for students with disabilities both in Korea and the United States were reviewed in terms of physical education curriculum in special schools, its legal status, and advocacy group. From investigating conditions and situation of physical education for students with disabilities in both countries, the following tasks to insure the rights for physical education have been drawn. First, requirement of physical education for students with disabilities should be ensured in the Special Education Promotion Act. Second, leisure and physical activities should be included in the related services. And third, advocacy group for physical education for students with disabilities are required to work more actively and positively for ensuring the right for physical education of students with disabilities.
