In this study, we examined to verify the relevance that understanding of science learning content of elementary school students are to depend on the representation of science learning materials and students' brain preference. The topics of this study were 105 6th grade elementary school students. The topics of this study were 105 6th grade elementary school students. The students studied science learning materials as two forms of representations(text/image). After that, we examined understanding of science learning content from the students. The results of this study were as in the following. First, right-brain preference students group were higher understanding in image-representation than text-representation. Second, right-brain preference students was weak in the text-representation. Third, right-brain preference students favor image-representations. But left and both-brain preference students groups didn't show any tendency.
