This study quantitatively examined preservice elementary teachers' attitudes toward field trips through the biology outdoor inquiry work. A total of 105 preservice elementary teachers, 39 major in science and 66 major in non-science, were involved in our study. The study used the instrument consisted of 32 Likert-type questions on attitudes toward science field trips which includes five sub-domains; learning tool, individualized learning, social aspect, adventurous aspect, and environmental aspect. The attitudes of preservice teachers toward field trips changed more positively through biology outdoor inquiry work. They, especially, more positively changed on sub-domains of learning tool, individualized learning, and environmental aspect, whereas little changed on social and adventurous aspects. We expect the results to contribute in developing and executing effective biology outdoor inquiry programs for school children and teacher education.
