The Research of Mongolian Language andScript in Inner Mongolia UniversityBadma-odsarThe discipline of Mongolian language in Inner Mongolia University has become a key discipline with certain scale and characteristics over the past forty years, and now it is of certain international and domestic influence, too. The author firstly introduced the research of Mongolian language and script in Inner Mongolia University, and then he detailed the outstanding achievements of this University in the field of Mongolian language and script from the following five angles: (1) the research of modern Mongolian language and its dialects; (2) the research of middle age Mongolian language and the ancient script of northern minorities of China; (3) the relative study of Mongolian linguistic subfamily and Altaic linguistic family; (4) Mongolian language information processing and experimental phonetics; (5) the history of Mongolian linguistics and the research of linguistic theories and methods.
