Korean Chosŏn Dynasty is of special significance to Chinese history both Ming-Qing Dynasties and modern times, because the two countries built a mutually-beneficial community of destiny. Chinese historical memory and academic research on the history of Chosŏn Dynasty have been influencing its diplomatic mind and strategic decisions on the Korean peninsula from 1919 to 2019. Over the past 100 years, Chinese research on the history of Chosŏn Dynasty has been a combination of “internal history” and “external history”. It has gone through four stages including laying the foundation for national salvation, arduous exploration, vigorous development and going to the world, and every stage had some symbolic events and complicated inducements for changes. The development and changes of Sino-Korean relations in the past 100 years have profoundly affected Chinese research on the history of Chosŏn Dynasty, and Chinese research on the history of Chosŏn Dynasty has promoted the mutual trust and exchanges between the two countries to a certain extent. Since the establishment of Sino-Korean diplomatic relation in 1992, China has made remarkable achievements in the research on the history of Chosŏn Dynasty, but there are still many bottlenecks and shortcomings. So it has further inspired Chinese new forces to blaze new trails and provide historical experience and Oriental wisdom for the community of destiny of both the two countries and the whole mankind.
