Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a take-over request warning signal in partially automated vehicle at the SAE 3 level. Background: In partially automated vehicles, the autonomous driving mode may be deactivated owing to driver, vehicle, and environmental factors. At the SAE level 3, the driver does not need to monitor the driving situation; however, he or she must perform a DDT (dynamic driving task) fallback in a take-over situation. For traffic safety, the interaction between the vehicle (system) and driver in a take-over situation must be investigated. Method: First, a take-over scenario was constructed based on literature research. To compare the effects of single modalities and multi-modality combinations, a simulator experiment was conducted with 41 subjects (Experiment 1). In addition, to compare the effects of the design variables of auditory and haptic modalities on the take-over performance, another experiment was conducted with 26 subjects (Experiment 2). The effectiveness of the multimodal warning signals was compared based on the results of Experiments 1 and 2; the designed multimodal warning signals consist of combinations of visual (A-pillar LED light and cluster or cluster only), auditory (earcon or speech message), and haptic (haptic or none) warning signals. To compare their effects (there were eight types of warning combinati^_@span style=color:#999999 ^_# ... ^_@/span^_#^_@a href=javascript:; onclick=onClickReadNode('NODE10589838');fn_statistics('Z354','null','null'); style='color:#999999;font-size:14px;text-decoration:underline;' ^_#전체 초록 보기^_@/a^_#
