(Purpose) This study developed a home monitoring application for children with congenital heart disease (CHD) and evaluated its usability in children with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) waiting for total correction. (Design/methodology/approach) The study was conducted on 29 children with TOF waiting for total correction and their guardians from August 1, 2019 to September 7, 2020. Home monitoring was conducted through a mobile application, and the application’s usability was assessed using a health management smartphone application evaluation tool. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 26.0 to measure frequency with percentages and mean with standard deviations. (Findings) Twenty-nine children with TOF underwent home monitoring through the application before total correction. The mean monitoring period was 4.1 months, and the mean age at the surgery was 4.9 months. The mean data entry fulfillment rate by guardians was 86.9%, and the mean evaluation score was 55.6±11.5 points, suggesting that the quality of the developed home monitoring mobile application was satisfactory. (Research implications or Originality) This home monitoring program application is suitable for TOF patients waiting for total correction. This study showed that remote patient monitoring through the developed mobile application can be used in various ways without time and place restrictions.
