(연구배경 및 목적) 세계에 최초의 지하철은 1863년 영국 런던에서 시작하여 우리나라는 1974년 1호선 개통을 시작으로 일상에 자리 잡았다. 현재 2020년, 서울과 경기 지하철은 각각 9개 노선, 부산 4개, 대구 3개, 광주 1개, 대전 1개 노선으로 성장했다. 지하철은 우리의 일상에서 가장 중요한 교통수단으로 자리하고 있으며 이는 지역의 경제와 문화 등 산업 발전을 위한 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이러한 지하철의 발전으로 이용객이 증가하고 있으며 그에 따라서 본 연구는 공간과 역할이 확장되고 있는 지하철 역사에 쾌적한 환경을 제시하고 지하철역사의 안전정보디자인 방향제시를 목적으로 한다. (연구방법) 서울교통공사에서 운영하는 4·7호선 환승역 총신대입구(이수)역, 2·6호선 환승역 합정역, 2·수인분당선 환승역 선릉역, 5·9호선 환승역 여의도역의 지하철역사공간을 중심으로 범위를 선정하였으며 지하철역사, 재난대응시설, 유니버설디자인에 대해 이론적 고찰 후 선행연구를 분석하여 유니버설디자인 분석요소를 도출하고 현황조사를 실시하여 문제점을 도출하여 재난대응시설의 올바른 방향성을 제시한다. (결과) 재난대응시설은 타시설에 비해 접근성과 주목성이 결여되어 있고 이용자 인지에 어려움이 있었다. 한정된 지하철역사에서 시설의 중복으로 인지성이 떨어져 접근하기에 어렵고 사회적 약자가 이용하기에 시설의 높이와 이용방법에 한계가 있어 시각적, 물리적, 사회적인 요소 지원이 강화되어야 하며 유니버설디자인적용의 필요성이 강조되고 시설마다 디자인과 정보가 상이하고 비품의 부재로 사용성이 떨어져 기존환경과 조화를 이루지 못해 혼란과 거부감을 주고 있었다. 이것은 정보전달과 주목성을 강조하여 시설에 대한 효과적인 정보 전달을 지원해주며 이용자 동선을 침해하지 않고 안전과 주목성이 공감되는 범위에서 이용자에게 제공되어야 한다. (결론) 지하철역사의 재난대응시설에 대해 이용자의 인지와 모두 공평하게 이용할 수 있는 재난대응시설이 되도록 올바른 개선을 위한 계속적인 연구 설정에 의의를 두고 있다. 지하철은 앞으로 더욱 우리의 일상에 자리잡아 발전해 나아갈 것이며 지하철역사의 공간과 기능적인 요구도 앞으로도 증가될 것이다. 꾸준히 증가하는 지하철역사 이용자들의 안전을 위하여 이 연구를 기반으로 지하철역사에 주목성 강화된 재난대응시설을 적용하고 모두가 공평하고 안전하게 지하철역사를 이용할 수 있도록 하는 기초 자료가 되기를 기대한다.

(Research background and purpose) The world’s first subway system was the London Underground, which opened in 1863 in England . In Korea, the subway became a part of everyday life in 1974, with the opening of Line 1. Currently, Seoul and Gyeonggi subways cover nine routes: four for Busan, three for Daegu, one for Gwangju, and one for Daejeon. The subway is becoming one of the most important means of transportation , playing an important role in the development of industries such as the economy and culture of a region. Due to the subway development, the number of passengers has been increasing. Therefore, this study aimed to present a pleasant environment in subway stations, which spaces and roles keep expanding, and to provide directions for safety information design of subway stations. (Research method) The scope of the study was selected based on the subway station spaces of Chongshin University Station (Isu) Station (Lines 4 and 7), Hapjeong Station (Lines 2 and 6), Seonreung Station (Line 2 and Suin Bundang Line), and Yeouido Station (Lines 5 and 9), all operated by the Seoul Transportation Corporation. In addition, the leading studies of subway stations, disaster response facilities, and universal design were analyzed after theoretical consideration to identify the current problems. (Results) Disaster response facilities lacked accessibility and attention compared to other facilities and exhibited difficulty in user recognition. Because of the lack of awareness due to overlapping facilities in limited subway stations spaces, it was difficult to access the facilities, and the need for the application of visual, physical, and social elements was emphasized due to the limited height and use of the facilities for the socially disadvantaged. The need for an application of universal design was emphasized, and the design and information of each facility were different. Moreover, the usability of equipment was not harmonized with the existing environment, thus, causing confusion and rejection. This supports the effective delivery of information on facilities by emphasizing the importance of information transfer and attention, and should it be provided to users to the extent that safety and attention are empathized without prejudice to user movements. (Conclusion) It is meaningful to establish continuous research to improve the disaster response facilities of subway stations so that they can be used fairly and equally . The subway system will become even more established and developed in our daily lives, and the space and functional demands of subway stations will continue to increase. For the safety of the steadily increasing number of subway station users, we hope that based on this research, we will apply disaster response facilities that have strengthened the focus on subway stations, thus creating a safe environment for everyone to use subway stations safely and fairly.
