This study began with an interest in the learning pattern of Korean-Indonesian(BK-BI) and Indonesian-Korean(BI-BK) interpretation and translation in students at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). Recently, the Flipped Learning(FL) method has been in the spotlight in the academic world. Academic experts proved that when this method is introduced and applied, it has positively changes the learning outcomes. The FL method not only changes learning patterns but also revolutionize the teaching procedures, allowing students who were inclined to play a passive role in learning activities to become more active and also to explore more broadly. The purpose of this study is to learn how the FL method can be applied to BK-BI and BI-BK interpretation and translation learning. Also, this research intends to monitor what steps must be provided for the application of FL methods in the field of BK-BI and BI-BK interpretation and translation. To find out what is needed in the preparation of developing the FL method, students who took ‘Basic Interpretation’ and ‘Tourism Interpretation’ classes held in the fall semester 2019, were selected as research subjects. Based on the results, the following are suggested to improve the FL method in BK-BI and BI-BK interpretation and translation. First, the planned, integrated, and creative application of FL must be implemented immediately. Second, the primary material needed is text material and audio-video recordings. Each material must include interpretation and translation examples so that students can learn techniques and standards of interpretation and translation on their own. Third, the FL method for translation learning must be designed in a way that online and offline learning are interconnected and complementary. Fourth, it is necessary to introduce the following FL method with the benefits that can be obtained beforehand to lecturers and students who mostly do not have much information on it. Especially, considering the FL method is assumed to be an effective method that will be widely used in future education, it must be introduced and expanded in use furthermore.
