Though Cornin is known to induce angiogenic, cardioprotective and apoptotic effects, there is no report on antitumor effect of Cornin in prostate cancers yet. Thus, in the present study, the apoptotic mechanism of Cornin was investigated in androgen-dependent prostate cancer cells in association with STAT3/AR signaling axis. Cornin exerted significant cytotoxicity, induced sub-G1 population, and decreased the PARP and caspase3 in LNCaP cells. Consistently, Cornin downregulated the expression of AR, PSA and 5α-Reductase in LNCaP cells.
