This study analyzed the planning characteristics of overseas waterfront regeneration cities from an integrated landscape planning perspective. The purpose of the project is to examine the elements and implications of landscape planning to be considered in the regeneration of waterfront areas, including the planning, implementation, and operation of the project. The research method provided theoretical consideration of waterfront space and overseas case analysis. Successful waterfront regeneration cities such as Singapore River, Hammarby Sjostad and Hafency were selected as the targets. Important implications for activating waterfront space are as follows. First, buildings in terms of spatial structure require landscape planning with emphasis on historical and identity. Second, in public spaces, waterfront spaces should be opened to the public in principle, and landscape planning is needed to enhance publicness and connectivity. Third, the transportation system of public facilities requires landscape planning considering the ease of access to waterfront from the city center and the eco-friendly linkage system. Fourth, in terms of operation and management, the landscape plan of residents' participation and sustainability must be reflected in order to realize successful and sustained waterfront regeneration. Through this research, integrated landscape planning in waterfront regeneration planning can be expected to be an important requirement for improving the value of urban landscape, revitalizing waterfront and strengthening urban economic power.
