The purpose of this research is to analyze subject case and objective case of Hangeul Letters from mid-to-late nineteenth century to overall of twentieth century. First of all, this study examines subject cases and objective cases respectively in closed and open syllables of nominal stem suffixes, considering that subject cases ‘/은//는’ and objective cases ‘/을//를’ are simplified into subject cases ‘/은>은’ and ‘/는>는’, and objective cases ‘/을>을’ and ‘/를>를’. Therefore, this study presents the unified aspects in that the suffixes are a subject case ‘은’ and an object case ‘을’ when they are closed syllables. However, the nominal stem-suffixes appear in the forms of the subject cases ‘, 는, 난, 은’ and the objective cases ‘, 를, 랄, 을’, not in the unified forms of the subject cases ‘/는>는’ and the objective cases ‘/를>를’ when the suffixes are open syllables. Particularly, this finding shows that the relatively frequent usages of the subject cases are ‘’ and ‘난’ among the subject cases mentioned above while the most frequent usage of the objective cases is ‘을’ in both open and closed syllables of the suffixes.
