Along with the remarkable growth of the beauty industry, nail art has become a means of social expression to express individuality and self-image, and the range of consumers who prefer original and high-quality nail designs is further expanding. It is necessary to respond to people around the world"s interest in Korean traditional culture, which has risen to K-Beauty"s status in various beauty fields. In particular, the royal paintings of the Joseon Dynasty, which are highly regarded in the sense that Korea"s unique history and tradition symbolize the dignity, prosperity, and origin of the country, are highly regarded for their aesthetic expressions reflecting the spirit and artistry of the times. This study presents a modern nail art design that reflects the traditional aesthetic based on the theoretical consideration of court painting in the Joseon Dynasty. By expressing the original image of Korea through 3D nail art, this study promotes the value of using traditional culture and improving the quality of the nail industry. Accordingly, three nail art pieces combining flat art, relief sculpture art, and three-dimensional art were designed as a convergence of modern formative design based on Korean traditional aesthetic elements. Through this study, it was possible to confirm the possibility of various expressions of nail art reflecting the value realization of traditional culture and the modern aesthetic era. Furthermore, a high level of technology improvement and innovative work research that can satisfy various needs of consumers will be continuously conducted.
