Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness and needs of multicultural language development instructors for the development of IT-based pragmatic language intervention program. Methods : Six instructors for multicultural language development participated in this study. Two researchers conducted a Focus Group Interview (FGI) and analyzed the results. Results : The results of the interview were analyzed and categorized based on three main topics (results from the experience of pragmatic language evaluation and intervention for children from multicultural families, pragmatic language ability of children from multicultural families, and demand for IT-based pragmatic intervention program) and six subtopics. Conclusions : To increase effectiveness and usability of IT-based pragmatic intervention programs for children from multicultural families, consideration needs to be given to customization features, a design that considers the children"s interests, and interpretation and translation services for parents with low Korean proficiency.
