Although the middle-aged and the older adults are different, the environment in which they live is less socially active, inactive, and in particular, they are not able to engage in economic activities sufficiently, so they have no choice but to live on assets and liabilities. This ultimately indicates that the quality of life may differ according to demographic characteristics, asset ownership, and debt ownership. Therefore, this study examines the quality of life by demographic, social, economic Assets and Liabilities characteristics using Korean longitudinal study of aging.
The results are summarized as follows. First, the difference in quality of life by demographic and sociological characteristics was determined by gender, educational background, housing occupancy type, residence type, region of residence, subjective class consciousness, economic activity, individual gross income, number of meetings, religious meetings, social gatherings, and reunions. There was a significant difference. Second, there were significant differences in quality of life by asset ownership by total real estate assets, total financial assets, other assets, and individual total assets. Third, there was a significant difference in the quality of life according to the characteristics of debt ownership, and there was no significant difference in the amount of self-purchased loans.
