The aims of this study are to explore the effects and supporting direction of mentoring classes of first-grade middle school learners. The results were analyzed through phone interviews, surveys, writing study journals, and face-to-face individual interviews with six male first-grade middle school students. As a result of this study, four things influenced mentee students: 1) A customized class that helps students understand 2) A question-oriented class 3) English learning motivation and confidence improvement 4) Self-reflection time through mentoring. However, the direction of support for mentoring programs related to the lack of English learning strategies and lack of mentoring review time for mentee students was also found. To solve these problems, mentoring pre-education is required, and it needs to include learning strategies and review methods suitable for mentee students" English learning levels, effective feedback methods, and how to teach students who lack English learning skills. Furthermore, for student-customized English mentoring programs to be implemented efficiently, it is necessary to strengthen the support system that allows each city and provincial office of education and each school to operate mentoring programs continuously.
