Abstract: This study examines the value and prospects of the beauty industry in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the current status of the K-beauty industry, and proposes ways to develop the K-beauty industry in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. The research method is a literature review method. As for the contents of research, previous studies on the 4th industrial revolution and beauty industry were reviewed, the K-beauty industry in the era of the 4th industrial revolution was analyzed, and the development plan of the K-beauty industry was presented. As a result of the study, first, it was found that the conversion of customized beauty frames is necessary due to technological innovations such as VR and AR. Second, it was found that there is a need for sustainable growth analysis by identifying consumer needs through the use of big data. Third, a localization strategy is needed to identify the needs of various countries and regions, and fourth, it was found that convergence of the beauty health industry is necessary to simultaneously meet the needs for health and beauty that can encompass all generations. Through this study, it was suggested that the efforts of the state, local governments, and industries should be made together so that the Korean beauty industry can develop and succeed continuously.
