This study analyzed the expected issues when implementing the 2022 revised national curriculum of English in the elementary schools in accordance with the major changes in the 2022 revised national curriculum, and investigated the perceptions of elementary school teachers on these expected issues. To this end, a survey of elementary school teachers was conducted and a total of 301 responses were analyzed. Then, interviews with four elementary school teachers were conducted and analyzed. The results show that a majority of teachers agreed that it would be difficult, at the elementary school level, to design and implement teaching and assessment regarding the newly added "Aesthetic Emotional Competency" and "Creative Thinking Competency," achievement standards related to the use of strategies and "viewing" and "presenting." In addition, many teachers agreed that it would be difficult to design and implement teaching and assessment in consideration of the English proficiency level and characteristics of individual students emphasized in the revised English curriculum. Based on the findings, it is suggested to support elementary school teachers on these issues by providing guidelines and examples of teaching and assessment in elementary schools.
