The aim of this article is to settle the proper criteria of classification of 6 word-formation processes which are established in Song, Won-yong(2002). This article's proposal is summarized in the chart below.[±synchronic] is a criterion related to whether the speaker uses one's synchronic intuition on the internal structure of word, lexical relatedness, syntactic rules, naming convention etc. [±register], which is established on the basis of phenomenon that if the syntactic phrases become word, those is listed, is a criterion related to whether new word lists after being formed. [± relation to lexicon] is a criterion related to whether the informations in lexicon, i.e. internal structure of word, lexical relatedness etc., is utilized as the base of the formation of new words. [±internal structure] is a criterion related to whether the immediate constituents of new word are all roots, to whether one constituent of it is affix or pseudo-affix. The word-formation process is divided to two stages. One is a stage that more than two constituents combinate morphologically, the other is a stage the union of morphemes lists to lexicon. [± synchronic],[± register], [± relation to lexicon] are closely related to properties of this two stages. But [± internal structure] is irrelevant to this two stages and is the secondary criterion applied to only [+relation to lexicon].
