This Article starts with difficulty ane limitation I felt while taking charge of language education for the communicative skills such as reading and writing skills. I set the media literacy as the aim of media education in the subject, Korean ane introduces some cases of media education in the various- running actual spots.
Actually, media-education becomes necessary in a variety of reasons. First, the relationship between a teacher ane students is changed. We don't think a teacher as a controller ane students as consumers any longer. The change of language in a real life is also the important reason, caused by development of computer ane media technology like Internet. Finally, teachers realize how essential media-education is and renew their understanding of the subject, Korean.
On the basis of these changes, I suggest cooperative learning, multiliteracies, and restructuring of the text for the content of media-education. And for the ways of media-education?
I propose the readiness of students as well as a teacher, joints efforts among teachers such as a team-teaching and interaction with the community. We can put children's picture book, animations, Internet, interviews, poet-songs to practical use in a lesson.
Last, I present one unit in the work-book, "Media-Literacy in Koran Language", developed by Media Research Department in The Korean Language Teachers Union.
