Transitions occur for everyone. Whether changing jobs, establishing residency in a new city, or changing schools and churches, transition can be a stressful time. The focus of this study examined how formal and informal transition processes contribute to the growing young adults as spiritual christians in local churches. Students in college freshman, junior, sophomore, and senior with their young adults ministers in local church system were interviewed to identify themes related to transition issues and activities in the young adults ministry
The focus groups generated several suggestions for the addition of possible formal transition programs. Additionally, the focus groups demonstrated the value of several informal processes. First, a strong emphasis on the belief by four focus groups' participants of the importance of education needs to be maintained. Second, high school to college transition students need to be continuously given the opportunity to learn the Bible and develop themselves in the church. Finally, local churches continue to focus on high school to college transition students and develop program coherence such that spiritual formation, time management, and learning climates are achieved throughout their ages. Through the idea, young adults group will be active and grow.
