The survey assessed the status of course assignments and the difference between research interest and present lecture classes of college professors in department of sport and leisure studies in Korea. Subjects of this study were eighty five professors in department of sport and leisure studies from nationwide. Frequency data and percentages were reported for each response on the 13-item questionnaire alone with analysis of the data by gender, age(-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), experence(full-time instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor). The findings showed that the 31(36.49%) professors were assigned more than 14 lecture hours for a week. The mean of participating in Professional organization was 1.44 which meant that the professors were inactive for participating professional organization. The 36(42.35%) professors were received the doctoral degree from Korean University on the other hand the 21(24.71%) professors were received the doctoral degree from foreign countries. Most of professors taught classes which were same as their interesting area. However, some professors still taught classes which were not same as their interest area.
