The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between organizational socialization and organizational effectiveness in Korean professional baseball organization. More specifically, the study aims: (1) to analyze the adaptability of the organizational socialization model, proposed by Feldman(1976), in sport organization; (2) to analyze the relationship between organizational socialization and overall member satisfaction; (3) to analyze the relationship between organizational socialization and job involvement. In order to achieve the aforementioned purposes, the relevant data were gathered from 240 professional baseball players who played at the first division and who had under 5-years professional athlete career. And only 82 cases were analysed. The questionnaire was composed of 25 questions including 21 independent variables, and 4 dependent variables. The reliability of the member satisfaction variable is Cronbach` α=.786-.882. The statistical techniques used for the analysis of this study were Pearson`s correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of the study are as follows: First, the organizational socialization process model, developed by Feldman(1975), does not work at the Korean professional baseball organization. Second, the entire phase of the organizational socialization effect on the organizational effectiveness. Third, the most important predictor of overall member satisfaction is congruence, and the most important predictor of job involvement is initiation to the task.
